1993 was certainly not the best time for traditional heavy metal. INFERNO from Florida tended towards US prog metal, but even this style had difficulty asserting itself against grunge, crossover and other modern trends, which, unlike traditional metal, all disappeared from the scene at some point. Real metal fans were nevertheless happy that the then still new label Massacre Records was releasing quality metal from Mystik, Forte, Ritual, Winter's Bane and INFERNO, among others. Anyone who discovered "Psychic Distance" back then still raves about this album today...
Without Massacre Records, INFERNO from Jacksonville, Florida, founded in 1988, would be a band with three cassette releases today. The first demo was released in 1992, after which the album "Psychic
Distance" was only released on tape for cost reasons. This was followed in 1995 by another demo called "Architect", which became just as "famous" in underground circles over the years.
Both formats have their speciality! The LP is the first ever vinyl release of "Psychic Distance". In addition to the remastered album, the CD contains the aforementioned "Achitect" demo, mastered from the original DAT tape. A recent interview with two members of the former band fills exciting liner notes, and there are also many rare photos to see (CD booklet and LP insert).
US metal fans should not miss this release!
